Our History

Established in 1973 ............ and still growing

SAGETRA INC. is recognized as a leader distributor of kitchen accessories and restaurant equipments in North American market.

It all began in 1973, when the father Michael Saliba opened a small retail store called "Saliba General Trading Co." The store specialized in restaurant and food service equipment, specialty gourmet products and silver-plated, gold-plated and high-quality porcelain products; its goal was to provide the best quality while ensuring the best service and prices.

When Michael Saliba passed away in 1987, his children Andre and David Saliba continue running the retail store. Renaming the company Sagetra, Inc. in 1995, the brothers decided to escalate the business into an import and wholesale distributorship. Their goal was to provide unique kitchen products with a focus on new technologies.

The first product line that fit the stringent criteria was SANELLI, an Italian manufacturer of high quality cutlery. The business quickly gained success and, in less than three years, became one of three top Canadian cutlery distributors.
